Introducing Piezo-surgery

Piezo-surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that uses ultrasonic vibrations to cut bone tissue while preserving surrounding soft tissues. This is achieved through a piezoelectric device, which converts electrical energy into mechanical oscillations at ultrasonic frequencies. The technique offers benefits such as reduced trauma, minimal bleeding, and enhanced healing.

BoSculpter

BoSonic has developed a next generation Piezo-surgery device with the aim to improve surgery. The BoSonic system consists of a generator, a handpiece, a footswitch, an irrigation hose set, and a sterilization tray. The disposable cutting tools have been designed to perfectly fit the user needs. Protection sleeves provide a safe and solid grip for a controlled cutting, thereby enhancing the surgical experience.

Key Features

  • Ergonomic and light handpiece
  • Integrated and adjustable irrigation
  • Dedicated cutting tools
  • RFID for automated parameter selection
  • Easy assembly and user interface
  • Portable and compact generator

System Parts

Generator

the user interface at the generator has been optimized to be easy to operate. It provides clear guidance to the surgeon or nurse. Via RFID, provided with each cutting tool, the generator obtains specific parameters for optimal use. The generator is portable and compact while providing sufficient power to effectively cutting through human bones.

Handpiece

The Handpiece has been developed in close collaboration with international key opinion leaders resulting in a light and ergonomic instrument that ensures full control over the cut during surgery.

Torque wrench

The Torque wrench is used to tightly connect the cutting tool to the handpiece. Its proprietary design is intuitive and safe to handle. As it is a monolithic instrument cut from one piece of metal, it is basically maintenance free.

Sterilization tray

The tray offers dedicated spots for all sterilizable parts, namely handpiece, protection sleeves, elongation and torque wrench.
